We asked designer Iron Horse Helmets to tell us how they got started designing gloves.
How did you get started as a designer?
I own my company and also design. I really just picked things that I would wear and my friend's would wear that I couldn't find in the US. Bolder patterns and soft leather, etc.
What inspires you to design?
I was sick of seeing cheap Chinese Motorcycle Gloves
Is designing as fun as it seems it would be?
It is interesting choosing different patterns and finding slave labor.
Where do you find inspiration?
I found inspiration while drinking a forty with my boys.
If you could be anywhere in the world where would you be?
Sturgis, Daytona, or Laconia to live for a few years. Laughlin for a visit.
Where do you see your leather biker gloves in 5 years?
Still on your hands, they should last over 10 years
Who is your favorite celeb to wear your designs?
That is a tough one, I can't think of any off hand as a lot of celebrities don't dress my style.
Tell us about a typical day for you:
Basically I am riding my motorcycle or dodging work.
Any advice you would give to aspiring designers?
Stay out of my business, you can’t beat our motorcycle gloves and quality.
As a child did you envision yourself doing something creative?
No, not at all, I thought I would be in jail by now.
